Newent Community School’s original pitch was built in 1996 and was long overdue for replacement.
Under the main contractor Verde Recreo the old surface was removed. Unfortunately the existing rubber shock pad was disintegrating and unable to support another pitch life. This meant the pad had to be removed and replaced with a 15mm thick insitu rubber pad.
Onto this the unique Rhino-Turf HF30 surface was installed. This features long hockey fibres infilled with specially selected sand. The pitch meets FIH National standards but is also designed to cope with the rigours of cross field football use.
